Not the usual "week in the life" for me . . .

I decided last week to participate in the "a week in my life" project that Ali Edwards posted on her blog. So today I will share with you a random picture that I took on my way home from work one day. This is on Woodside Road - a road that I travel twice a day on days that I work - and sometimes on days I don't work. I tried to take a picture of the clouds because they looked so cool - there were several clusters of clouds in the sky and they were kind of stacked in the sky. Later in the day they had merged and they weren't so interesting, so I am glad I attempted to take some pictures of them when i did! This has been an interesting week to say the least. I can finally say I now know when my last day of work will be. Halloween. That is the last day. It is the last day for ALL transcriptionists at St. John's. They are outsourcing all of their transcription after that date. I thought maybe my job would be safe but come to find out not only me and my coworker were NOT safe, neither were several others in the hospital. I feel bad for all the others because at least I have had a while to adjust to the idea (although it was under entirely different circumstances), but the others just had this dropped on them suddenly. We are suppose to have a meeting next week with someone from the company that they are outsourcing with and they are suppose to be offering us jobs with that company. I don't know the details yet but I do know I would work from home. I have been thinking about this since I found out, and the more I think about it the happier I feel about it. I am scared of course - I have only had experience typing cardiac reports - so who knows if I will even make enough money doing this since I get paid for what I actually type - but the idea of working from home sounds more and more appealing to me. So keep your fingers crossed that it all works out! In other news, CKC is only 1 week from today!!! I am so excited to be going to KC for the convention. It is so fun to take classes, shop, take more classes, shop, shop some more, meet up with friends that I have met through scrapbooking, shop some more LOL. I may actually have a visitor next week that I will take with me. She is not a real live person but she is still fun nevertheless! It is Flat Joscie. I will post more about her later -but just wanted to tell you - she has gone postal and is on her way to my house as we speak - all the way from Hawaii! I hope she makes it in time to go to KC with me! I know she will have tons of fun there! Well, I hope you all have wonderful plans for the weekend. Talk to you soon!
